In the liver, central vein endothelia cells (arrowhead) secrete Wnt proteins to provide Wnt signals peri-central hepatocytes (labeled with membrane GFP), thereby constituting the niche. Wnts induce transcription factor Tbx3 (labeled in Red) expression in pericentral hepatocytes to allow these cells complete mitosis.
